Something has been profoundly affecting my artisitc eye recently; I have decided to separate from my wife. There had been a spitfire of changes that have occurred in both of our lives (her parents both dying, me quitting work to go to school fulltime, us moving from Hampton Roads to Richmond, and my acceptance and 1st year in pharmacy school). It was too much and we drifted away on our separate tracks.

She's still in love with me but my feelings have changed. I care deeply about her but I could not subject her to a life with someone who could return the feelings, nor could I stand idly by living an unhappy existance.

I'm just glad that things have been relatively civil since I asked for the separation. This change is for the better. I hope eventually we will continue our great friendship, comfortably.

Fortunately I was able to bring everything back together when I was in Australia...What a fucking incredible country that one. Man, the U.S. should've been a penal colony rather than a debtor's haven. Shit wouldn't be so sideways here.
